Skins Rotterdam.

Two shop premises and an extra floor were needed to accommodate the expansion of the Rotterdam branch. By making narrow breakthroughs in a load-bearing wall, one shop is created. The original mezzanines were removed.

“Due to our great success, we are moving to an A-location in Rotterdam. We want to show a complete range
and adding a city spa where treatments are given with our own products. Of course we want the
specifieke ‘Skins’ uitstraling behouden.”

The highlighted wall cabinets form a fragrance library. In combination with 'Special' displays, they provide that typical Skins look. However, for ambitious Rotterdam: Bigger, higher and extra flair….

An additional elevator provides access to the city spa. The remaining load-bearing walls are covered by 'Special' displays.

The simple concrete floor is refined with brass veins, inspired by the Japanese Kintsugi philosophy. In addition, fracture lines in repaired pottery are further accentuated, adding to a new story.

The counters are made of polished red copper and illuminated worktops. A custom-designed acrylic light object connects the two spaces and creates unity.
